Living as sisters had a few inconveniences. We set up our second bedroom as my bedroom for appearances. Mary's business required some entertaining so appearances were important. At first it was difficult to be around Mary without showing any affection. To our guests, I was just Mary's sister, another woman.

I was a little jealous when Mary entertained male clients at our house. Since it was a business function, I would serve the food in my uniform but was not included in the conversation. I enjoyed entertaining at our home so I didn't mind too much.

Shortly after I became a housewife, Mary and I began to take lessons in ballroom dancing. Mary of course, did not really need lessons, but she went along to keep me company. We both realized that I would need instruction in dancing if we ever wanted to go out much. It would enable me to practice the essential feminine graces and mannerisms, and we hoped to form new friends and relationships.

It has worked out wonderfully for both of us, and now we usually are invited out to dances at least twice or three times every month. Mary, of course is out many evenings with clients and suppliers. I really don't mind, I like our house and enjoy being there.

The only blemish on an otherwise ideal marriage is that recently, I have had an increasing urge to have children. Mary says it's my hormones but I feel a nurturing urge that was never there before. It also may be that most of the other wives I associate with have children.
